Description

This course involves training you and your dog on the concept of opting "in" and "out" of various handling by means of the bucket game, chin rest, lying on their side, and more - this builds the trust between you and your dog to be able to not only tolerate handling & husbandry, but to be an active and willing participant.

This workshop will discuss the overall concept of Cooperative Care, and the importance of timing and skill on the human side working with and without the dogs.

Week 1 will be informational, demonstrating and explaining the various techniques and skills needed to begin cooperative care.

Week 2 will be beginning the timing and concept building with our dogs.

This workshop will require you to complete "homework" outside of class with your dog- as Cooperative Care is a long term concept and solution that requires time and care to create the required trust in our dogs!
